Calendly not detected by cookie scanner

I did but the scan doesn’t list the Calendly cookie. How can I add that service and cookie manually to the ones listed?

A related question to this. Why do the majority of the cookies from the scan not get listed in the auto generated cookie policy? For example: Google Fonts API, Google Maps API, Paypal, Youtube, etc.

The services should list automatically on the cookie policy. On rare occasions, the automatic part needs some help. It could be scan couldn’t find the cookies, because it looks like they are added by an iFrame. You can add cookies manually under Wizard – Cookies – Used Cookies.

I would suggest running the sync with cookiedatabase.org again, also under Used Cookies.

I ran the cookiedatabase sync again but still the calendly cookie is not recognised. Adding it manually is therefore not possible. When I click “add new cookie” it detects an unknown service named “cookie-1592384391” but this is not the Calendly cookie from what I understand.

About the Calendly cookies, they are not detected by the Complianz cookie scan because they are placed on a third-party domain. You can manually add these cookies, and the Calendly Service manually under Used Cookies and Used Services, in the Complianz wizard.

Third-party cookies like the Calendly cookies, but also YouTube, Google Maps, etc. are not detected directly through the cookie scan, while it can only access your own domain. These services are detected because we know the scripts that add these cookies, and we can detect them on your site. We then suggest adding these integrations while you are going through the wizard -> cookies -> integrations. If you enable these integrations, and later on sync to cookiedatabase.org, these third-party cookies should get added to your Cookie Policy.

Because we currently haven’t made an integration with Calendly, you will need to block this script manually by adding it to the script center (read our tutorial here) and add these cookies as described above.

In short:
1. Check if you enabled the required integrations
2. Re-sync with cookiedatabase.org
3. add the missing cookies and Calendly service

All the third party integrations were enabled in the wizard and resynced yet they don’t get listed in the cookie policy. Do you have a tutorial for step 3? Like I said before if I click on “add new cookie” it starts a scan and one single unknown service appears but it is neither Youtube, Google Maps or Calendly …

In the wizard, please go to step “cookies”, then click “integrations” in the menu. There you can answer “yes” on the question if you use third party services. YouTube etc will appear here. You can also enable social media in the same way.

Then re-sync to retrieve the cookies for these services.

And regarding Calendly could you add it to your default plugin integrations? It is quite a popular tool that many WordPress users have embedded on their sites so it will be helpful to more of your users.

Judging from the link you provided, it seems that no cookie data is collected from cookiedatabase.org. Could you check if you have enabled the connection with the cookiedatabase API?

Wizard -> Cookies -> Integrations:
Do you consent to the use of the cookiedatabase.org API? -> Yes

Then navigate to the ‘Used cookies’ section in the same part of the wizard and issue a re-sync with Cookiedatabase. It will collect the information about the current cookies on your Cookie Policy and add the cookies of the selected third-party services.

I did all those steps but the result is the same. also the following error message appears: “Base cookies in English were not set. Please try to re-scan, then re-sync”

I only lists the cookies of Algolia, WordPress and WordFence but none of the others. Could the scanner maybe get blocked by Wordfence?

If you have cookies in the scan results, it’s not likely WordFence is blocking it. Did the WordFence and other cookies get prefilled with data from cookiedatabase.org? If so, the cookiedatabase sync is working.

– Currently you have enabled for example YouTube in the integrations list?
– Does YouTube show up in the services list?
– Do you have a multilanguage set up? In that case, sometimes running the cookie-scan again, then running the sync again may help to set the base cookies in English.

Yes, Wordfence gets listed, see my previous response.
Yes, Youtube shows up as as a service, as stated before but NOT in the cookie policy. So my main issue here is that several services that are listed in the scan are NOT included in the cookie policy.

As you can see the Cookie Policy mentions only 3 cookies/services of all the ones recognised in the scan and settings.
