I was messing around with the plugin calendar plugin for wordpress and had this error:

Something went wrong while fetching events.
    The request status is: 200
The error thrown was: SyntaxError: expected expression, got ‘<‘

I was clicking on the option that is view-able by the public when they try to go to February. Also, the view calendar link on the calendar list doesn’t work and the calendar button to the right of the page doesn’t work when I click on a calendar item. Thanks.

  • I am having the same problem on our website. Viewing a calendar (as a month) starts OK, but attempting to navigate to the next or previous month shows the following error:

Something went wrong while fetching events.
    The request status is: 200
The error thrown was: SyntaxError: Unexpected token <

The “Click here for technical details” popped up a subwindow that contained – I’m guessing – the HTML response. Running that response through an HTML validator showed no XML/HTML problems.

This can be reproduced by going to this page – https://parish.saintbrendan.org/news-and-events/events-calendar/ and clicking to the next or previous month.

Is there a solution for this?
