Calendar using post publish date, not event date. Is there a fix?
-
Hi, Let me first say that I’m no programmer and this is my first attempt at a WordPress site. Gotta start somewhere! ??
I am using the Geodirectory plug-in to build a business directory/community event site. The plug-in sadly does not have a calendar view (Yeah, I know!) so I was hoping to integrate WP fullcalendar somehow with the Event custom post type.
I installed fullcalendar and created a new page for the calendar view. I selected the custom post type EVENTS (gd_events) and taxomony EVENT CATEGORIES (gd_eventcategory). So far so good. I got a calendar to show up (Yay!!) with some dummy data and it’s just what I wanted it to look like. However, the calendar is showing events based on the date each event post was published, not the actual date(s) of the events. I guess it’s defaulting to the wrong field in the gd_database(?)
Is there a workaround for this or a shortcode that might solve this problem? If yes, please be very specific in your step-by-step instructions for this old newbie. I’d be so thrilled to get this to work!
Thank you for your precious time.
All the best,
Kris
