• Hi, Let me first say that I’m no programmer and this is my first attempt at a WordPress site. Gotta start somewhere! ??

I am using the Geodirectory plug-in to build a business directory/community event site. The plug-in sadly does not have a calendar view (Yeah, I know!) so I was hoping to integrate WP fullcalendar somehow with the Event custom post type.

I installed fullcalendar and created a new page for the calendar view. I selected the custom post type EVENTS (gd_events) and taxomony EVENT CATEGORIES (gd_eventcategory). So far so good. I got a calendar to show up (Yay!!) with some dummy data and it’s just what I wanted it to look like. However, the calendar is showing events based on the date each event post was published, not the actual date(s) of the events. I guess it’s defaulting to the wrong field in the gd_database(?)

Is there a workaround for this or a shortcode that might solve this problem? If yes, please be very specific in your step-by-step instructions for this old newbie. I’d be so thrilled to get this to work!

Thank you for your precious time.
    All the best,
    Kris

just to confirm, did you also installed Events Manager (EM) ?

I installed the Geodirectory Events add-on that goes with Geodirectory. I was hoping to be able to use that and have fullcalendar work with it since their Events add-on doesn’t have a full page calendar feature. If not, no worries…just wishful thinking. Thanks!

sorry but at the moment, this is not possible at the moment. however, if they are using custom post types then you can try options at wordpress > settings > wp fullcalendar > post types

i faced the same issue, i already installed event manager, but still display according to the post date.

Same problem. There is no response on this? Events showing on calendar as POSTED date and not Event date. If you chnage posted date the future, obviously wordpress sets that as Scheduled.

Currently no way to set future events on calendar.

I’m totally frustrated with this. Is there not a fix for this?

sorry where not able to replicate this; do you have a step by step guide to help us replicate this?

    thanks

I create a post for an upcoming event. I tag it to “Upcoming Events” category. Then, in my calendar, it’s highlighted on the day that I published the post, not the day of the actual upcoming event. If I change the publishing date to the actual date of the event, then I have to click on Schedule and it then doesn’t appear in my Upcoming Events page.
