    Hi There!

I am using a portuguese translations of The Events Calendar, it shows it correctly in the calendar itself, but when passing the mouse over the event it shows the character entity set (ã).

    Image of the error!

    How do I solve this?

    Thanks in advance!

    Howdy evertramos,

You can solve that by pasting the unencoded title into the Event box, instead of the HTML character encoded characters. In other words copy/paste this “Reuni?oPública” and you should see it render uniformly, don’t use ã and such.

I am going to log that as a bug though. Technically WordPress does accept raw HTML characters inside of post titles, even <scripts>! So we should do our best to support those. I am not actually sure we can accept arbitrary HTML for the popup titles, but at the very least we can run language characters like your example through a conversion from HTML to JS encoded equivalents. Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

    Hello Brook,

    Thanks for your reply!

As it does not have a solution so far… I will keep as it is.

Rather keep it with errors on the popup then not use the correct Portuguese Grammar at all.
