    Hi,

Thank you for a great plugin!

Let’s say that I run two websites that give 60 minute one-to-one classes, one for yoga and one for Pilates, and I’d like my working hours to be 4pm – 10pm.

Currently, I have a separate calendar on each website – the calendar on the yoga website has timeslots at 4pm, 6pm and 8pm whereas the Pilates website has 5pm, 7pm and 9pm.

However, this is of course not the most ideal setup. 1) I’m missing out on e.g. people who want to do yoga but can only do it at 5pm. 2) There may be unexpected demand for a particular week in yoga and I would have made more revenue if I had increased my yoga timeslots and decreased my Pilates timeslots that week in advance. And so on.

Ideally, it would be better if I just has one calendar across both websites with timeslots 4pm, 5pm, 6pm, 7pm, 8pm and 9pm. If someone booked the 5pm slot on the calendar on the yoga website, that slot would also be marked as taken on the calendar on the Pilates website.

Is this currently possible? If not, can it be added as a suggestion?

Thank you for your help! ??

    Hello, thank you!

It is not possible with two distinct websites as they are using two distinct databases. It is a general technical limitation, not just for Booking Activities.

However, if you have the option of using only one website to sell both pilate and yoga classes, then it is possible thanks to the Resource Availability add-on:

    • Create a “Yoga” activity and place all the possible events in the calendar editor (4pm, 5pm, 6pm, 7pm, 8pm, 9pm…)
    • Create a “Pilate” activity and place all the possible events in the calendar editor (4pm, 5pm, 6pm, 7pm, 8pm, 9pm…)
    • Create a resource “Teacher”, with a quantity of “1”(yourself), and allocate it to both your “Yoga” and “Pilate” activities (docs) (configure it to be assigned to the whole event).

Now the first activity to be booked will block the other. E.g.: if a customer books “Yoga” at 4pm, the “Pilate” event at 4pm will become unavailable.

    Hi,

Thank you for the quick response, greatly appreciated!

Would it be possible to have a “cloud” add-on such that the database for the plugin is instead stored on e.g. booking-activities.fr (similar to how the database for a Google Calendar widget is stored with Google and not the website itself)? Then, you could access, edit and make bookings on the same calendar across multiple websites using iframes etc.? (I’m not sure if I’m even making sense, my apologies!)

    Thanks again! ??

It makes perfect sense ?? It is basically a SAAS. However, Booking Activities is not a SAAS. You may want to look for a SAAS booking system that you can use on multiple distinct websites (I don’t know any, but I have very little knowledge about SAAS).

SAAS store data on their side, so be careful of their pricing and make sure you can export your data and leave at anytime.
