I’m having issues getting the events I’ve created, showing up on the front end calendar using the shortcode. The widget will show the events but nothing on the calendar. Even if I click through the different categories on the calendar nothing happens. some help or if anyone has a fix?

Is the calendar showing up without the events or not at all?
Try disabling all other plugins first, if it still doesn’t work, then please provide the url to your blog so I can help you troubleshoot.

All plug-ins are disabled. Created two events placed them in the default calendar category Event( for today’s date) and one in Volunteer(on Aug. 14th). Still nothing is showing up, on the front end. link to calendar

Does the calendar display at all?
    Or is the page blank.
To help you out, I’ll need the url.

Calendar is there… seems to load correctly. Link is previous post.

Sorry, missed the link in the email notification.

The calendar indeed is loading correctly, and even returning the necessary data for the fetched events. Your theme’s javascript appears to be in conflict with the plugin, I’d like to tell you more, but no errors are being thrown, so there are no clues as to specific nature of the problem.

It is possible the next release (read: major overhaul) of the plugin will address this issue. Look for it later today.

What if I load the calendar’s JS first?

The next release changes everything about the way the plugin handles JS, so there’s little to be gained by trying to tweak that now.

sounds good thanks for the help.

Still having the same issue with the updated version. Events aren’t showing on the calendar.

    eheltzel,

Based on what I’ve seen, it seems like a JavaScript conflict caused by the scripts in your theme.

I wish I could be of further help.

    Eran,
Just wanted to let you know that the events are now loading on the front end calendar with version .9.8.1.

Thank for the for support and updates !!!!!!

Hi there! Not sure whether I should start up a new thread or not, so I’ll just post it over here. Hehe!

After installation and attaching the widget to sidebar, I got the notice “date_default_timezone_set() [function.date-default-timezone-set]: Timezone ID ” is invalid in widget-upcoming.php on line 75″

Next, nothing happens when I try to click on the upcoming event detail. Firebug shows “$jq is not defined”.

Then I tried to add [calendar] to my page, the buttons showed up but calendar didn’t.

Could you enlighten me please? I’m testing at localhost, if you need screenshot, please let me know!

    Thanks in advance!

There are too many parameters to diagnose the issue without interacting with the site directly, screenshots aren’t enough. You can try to self-troubleshoot by viewing the site in Firefox with Firebug plugin activated – when you load the page in question, it will display any javascript errors in the console. The error text should give you a hint as to the conflict.

Try disabling all other plugins, try the calendar (it should work), activate the plugins back one at a time until the calandar stops working (and you’ll have found your conflict), and if you’re using a theme with javascript the conflict could be there.

    Eran
