• Hi, We are having some issues with the built-in calendar and the capabilities of assigned user roles.

    1. if you create several tasks over a period of weeks. it becomes very confusing. It would be good if you could assign colors to the different tasks.
    Also frontpage design should be ajustable to a individual design. (text-color, background)

    2. The user role zephyr-admin does not allow deleting comments from other users

    3. A Zephyr manager can delete images just like the admin, but not the associated comment. comments with deleted images could become senseless.

    4. An autoreload should be implemented in the comments, otherwise you won’t see current comments if they are made at the same time.

    5. A milestone is intended to mark a point by which a task must be completed and which marks an important stage of a project. this must have a different color than tasks.

    6. Date format should be changeable

    7. What does the Kanban boards menu item do? I can’t find any documentation about it nor can it be used in any way.

    8. Email-notification is too poor. there should be more information, what kind of changes are made.
    in case of a new comment ore file-upload, the link inside the mails should be assigned to that specific tab.

    9. Milestones cannot be opened by clicking. Since there is no automatic marking by color or an automatically inserted text such as “milestone”, these entries in the calendar cannot be distinguished from tasks, not even for an admin! Even admins can’t see milestones created by other users via the “milestones” menue!
    Assigned tasks should receive an identifier if they are assigned to a milestone and can also be accessed via the calendar with a click.

    Thanks so much for getting in touch, for your feedback and questions. My apologies for my delay in response over the weekend.

    1. Task colors and frontend design:
      1. Ability to assign colors to different tasks: I’ve added this request to the feature request list to add as soon as possible.
      2. Ability to adjust frontend design individually: Just to confirm, do you mean that each user should be able to select the colors of the frontend individually and separately from the global setting in Zephyr > Settings > Frontend Settings?
    2. Adding ability to allow deleting comments from other users for the Zephyr Admin role: I’ve added a new capability called ‘Delete Other Comments’ to allow adding this ability to any of the user roles from Zephyr > Settings > Permissions.
    3. Zephyr Manager not able to delete other comments: This can be added to the Zephyr Manager role as described above as well.
    4. Adding auto-reload for comments: I’ve added this now as requested.
    5. Milestones:
      1. Using a different color for milestones: I’d be happy to change this. What color did you have in mind for this?
      2. When adding a task to the milestone, it shows all tasks relating to the select project, and allows you to create a new task via the input. Or you mean that all tasks should be selectable without restricting it to the current project?
    6. Date format should be changeable: The date format can be changed from Zephyr > Settings > General Settings via the setting labelled “Date Format” under “Dates & Calendar Settings”.
    7. Kanban boards menu item functionality: When viewing single projects, or creating new projects, you can set the project type to Kanban Board. The Kanban Boards menu item displays all your Kanban Board type projects on a single page.

    The changes have been added in the latest updated versions.

    Hi Dylan, Thanks for the explanation and the tips. The update has just been installed and I have to test it these days.

    what i can say right now:

    to the frontend layout:

    it is enough if the admin can adapt the design. The functions via the backend are too limited for me to be able to better integrate the backend into a website. But that is of secondary importance for now.

    about the date format:

    I found the settings. However, when creating a task, the correct formatting is not displayed after selecting it using the date picker.

    to the capabilities:

    but for the project manager role, i can remove the “files page” option without preventing access to the page and at the same time prohibiting this user role from only being able to remove images in the comments?
    My point was, that there is basically no way to delete assigned images in comments with deleting it in files. These are obviously automatically listed for the task under “files” when someone writes a comment with a picture.

    Milestones:

    they should be dark red or better: adjustable.
    milestones should be visible for everyone but editable for owners and admins only. actually, you can see our own milestones only – even as an admin at the milestones-menue!

    My sincere apologies for the delay in response over the weekend.

    I have been busy working on the changes and will let you know as soon as they are completed.

    1. Extended customization options: Thanks, I have added that to the feature requests to add in the future, as soon as possible.
    2. Date format issue with date format not being used in the date picker: I am currently working on this. The reason the date pickers themselves have a consistent date format is because of date parsing issues if the dates are translated into different languages via the other formats. I will look for a way to implement this to avoid any multi language issues.
    3. In regards to your question about the capabilities and the files, just to make sure I understand correctly before making the change, do you mean that you would like to be able to delete images in comments without having them deleted from the files page, and preventing access to the ‘Files’ tab only on a per user basis?
    4. Distinguishing milestone tasks from other tasks and milestone display issue + roles: This is also currently being worked on and I will let you know as soon as it is resolved.

    As these requests are related to the Pro version, could I kindly ask if you could create a ticket here https://zephyr-one.com/help/. This will allow me to assist you more efficiently and provide you with the updates to these changes as soon as they are done before the release date.

    I hope you are doing great. I’ve finished adding the changes, and wanted to give you an update:

    1. Date format in date pickers: I’ve added this now to all the pickers in a way that should work globally.
    2. Milestone task indicator with custom color: I’ve prepared custom code to have these tasks shown in dark red as requested. To do this, could I kindly ask you to add the following custom PHP to either your child themes functions.php file or as a code snippet via a plugin like Code Snippets:
