I don’t have any plans to support modal plugins so I won’t be able to fix this specific problem.

However if you change the shortcode to:
[caldera_form_modal id="yourid"]My link text[/caldera_form_modal]

you’ll get the form in its own modal (it’s not perfect which is why its not mentioned) Give it a try and see if it works for you.

Is there any way of using the above modal shortcode inside a widget?
