• Hello,
Trying to create a form that contains contact details and variables for a job estimate / quotation, example: unit and price per unit,
Importantly I want this form to then do a calculation, eg units * unit price + setup cost, and displayed on screen for a total price.
I want this estimate to then be able to be submitted via email to both the customer and myself.
Some variables would be hard coded/fixed and perhaps invisible to user, others entered by the user.

Can this kind of calculation be done in something like Contact Form 7 (or anything else)?
I’ve been dabbling with another plugin called Price-calc all night (no version update in 2 years), which is close to what I want, but terrible from a usability perspective in its normal state. Customising/tweaking, rearranging display order is also extremely hard.

    Thanks for any help

Although not the prettiest for my needs (I would prefer contact form 7 to do the calculation live), I hacked away at price-calc and got to something almost what I need, and it was working ok in default twenty ten theme, then when i upgraded the theme it suddenly completely broke.

Any idea why a theme would break a/this plugin, and how I could get around it?

Checked the error logs (when using the plugin in conjunction with the non-standard theme), and get:
[03-Jun-2011 10:04:58] PHP Warning: call_user_func_array() [<a href='function.call-user-func-array'>function.call-user-func-array</a>]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, 'vn_option_setup' was given in /home/XXX/public_html/XXX.com/test/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 395

Not sure why it’s only an error when 1 theme is in use and not the other.
Does that mean anything to anyone?

Looking for something similar to no avail….
Having a look at that price-calc now myself

price-calc isnt a bad looking setup – could definitely be prettified… but it wont do my job

Let me know how you go. You’d think it would be a pretty common script.

Did either of you find or create another solution besides price-calc? I’ve been researching this topic briefly. I looked at a sample site running price-calc and I don’t mind the appearance, but I also saw some reports of problems activating the plugin. Any experience to share would be appreciates.

    Thanks.
