Calculate before file upload

  • Hello,

    I have a product that *requires* file upload. But there is not price difference dependent on the file upload. I can’t figure out how to have the price calculate before the file is uploaded. Is this possible? There are other options that do change the price, but there is nothing in the price calculation that depends on the file at all.

    You can define a price for uploading a file and enter the formula and enter its value in the formula.

    I don’t see how that helps.

    What I would like is that
    a) the price is calculated from options chosen before having to upload a file (for customers who want to get a price quote without having a file ready
    b) not allow adding to cart without uploading a file

    So if I set the file upload to “required” it won’t calculate before the upload, regardless of the value of the upload and its inclusion in the formula.
    If I set it to not “required,” it will calculate without requiring an upload, but then it can be added to the cart without a file uploaded!
