    Hello,

    Is anyone able to tell me the file type that I need to allow to let postie receive and post autocad files ?
    I have tried adding the file extension to the list but that doesnt work.
    eg dwg or dxf etc

    You need to use a plugin that extends the types of files WordPress accepts. Postie for the most part allows you to additionally restrict file types, but not add to them.
