    Hi there,

I’m looking at ways to speed up my membership site. Apparently your plugin is not allowing any caching to take place at all and I’m unsure why?

I’m sure there’s a setting I can amend but wanted to know if is was better that I kept it on?

My host sorts my caching out, I don’t use plugins, so I don’t know whether to try and remove the caching/cookie you’re setting or leave it?

I can provide the code if required.

    Tech-newby over here!

    Thanks

    Hello, @charliemariephoto.

    Disable this option:
WordPress Admin Page —> Settings —> Anti-Spam by CleanTalk —> Advanced settings —> set the option “Set cookies” to “No” —> Save Changes.

We also recommend to enable “Use alternative mechanism for cookies”.

    Did it help?

    Hi sorry for delay

If I do that what impact will it have?

Worried about increased spam or conflicts with the site. It has a pretty strong warning message:

Warning: We strongly recommend you to enable this otherwise it could cause false positives spam detection.

    Hello, @charliemariephoto.

We do not insist on, just advise you to disable cookies if there will be false positives.

You’d better disable cookies than have it enabled when caching plugin works, we can say it for sure. As a variant, use alternative cookies mechanism when cookies enabled.

Write to us if you have some issue with filtration when caching is turned on.

    Be well,

I’m really sorry, but I didn’t quite understand your message.

Could you explain what you mean? I can’t work out whether it’s advisable to enable or disable this feature and I’m getting a bit confused.

As a general rule it’s better to disable cookies and enable alternative mechanism for cookies.

So yes, it is advisable to disable cookie when you’re using cache plugins.

Ok, thank you for that. So I’m testing it on my staging site and seeing if my host can confirm caching is enabled now.

Do you think I’ll get more spam hits with these settings enabled?

It’s not a caching plugin that I use, it just is part of the hosting plan that they offer caching services.

No, we do not think so. At least, not significantly.
