caching and php versions

    Hello guys, a couple of questions:

    • is the plugin compatible with (open)litespeed servers and its caching plugin (litespeed cache)? If not, is it compatible with some other caching plugin (wprocket, etc.)?
    • is it fully compatible with php 8.1?

    Thanks for contacting us. There are no functions in Vik Booking that could be not compatible with specific caching systems. You are free to use any caching mechanism or plugin, but please be aware of the fact that those caching systems unable to detect changes with the PHP Session or database contents, may just harm your website.

    Vik Booking is a dynamic plugin, where a small rate modification must be immediately reflected on the front-end section of your website to guests, and in our honest opinion, any caching system is simply excessive nowadays, where the latest server technologies and PHP versions guarantee extremely fast loading processes even with GB of data. However, you are definitely free to use any caching system you want.

    Vik Booking is fully compatible with any PHP 8.x version. We still support PHP 5.4 for the moment, but soon we will drop the support for this old PHP version, and we will only support the 7.4 and 8.x. However, if you really need to choose PHP 8, then do not choose the 8.1, because the 8.2 is, at the moment, the only LTS (Long Term Support) version of the series 8 of PHP. The support for PHP 8.1 has already ceased to exist.
