• Hi,

This is an old phenomenon that also exists in previous versions.
I use the Divi theme and when I save a page, post or do an update, the entire cache with all pages is cleared, not just the edit page or the post. It gets much better: the options aren’t set to purge.
I don’t mean in Gutenberg posts, but couldn’t be sure.
The funny thing is that this also happens when I do WordPress updates, install or disable a new plugin, etc.
Cache Enabler has additional options and rules for these cases, and if it’s not set up, do the default rules always work that clear the entire cache?

For PHP this can get stressful if the cache is completely rebuilt every seconds or minutes. When I build a page with Divi in ??grid mode, it’s normal to play back and forth and save steps in between because Divi automatically saves that every minute. The cache is cleared after each backup. That’s not the idea behind it ^ _ °

Maybe you have a tip or idea how to stop this crap.
    Thanks for the attention

Cache Enabler itself only automatically clears the site cache instead of the post, comment, term, or user cache if the applicable setting is enabled. Otherwise when a post is saved, which is any post type (e.g. page or post), only the post cache is cleared.

Cache Enabler will automatically clear the site cache on certain updates, like for the core, an active plugin, or child and/or parent theme in use.

What you’re describing sounds like something else is clearing the Cache Enabler cache. If this behavior is not wanted, then it’d be best to identify what is causing it. Does the theme itself handle this? Searching for strings like Cache_Enabler, cache_enabler_, or ce_ (in case it was added before 1.6) could help in the search.

If not, do you have any custom behavior added to your website, like in your functions.php file, or any plugins that may be triggering this?

    Hi Corey,
I use a child theme and have custom behavior added to my function.php, but nothing to handle caches.
Cache_Enabler, cache_enabler_, or ce_ can I not discover in Divi code, I guess it comes from WP core?
Can I add a filter to dissable this behavior?
Cache Enabler has no activated cache handling options that could explain this behavior.

Can you please provide the current list of plugins installed on your website? This can be obtained from your Site Health Info (WordPress dashboard > Tools > Site Health > Info > Copy site info to clipboard) or a screenshot of what is installed also works. That will allow me to see if it happens to be any plugins causing this.

Possible (probable) reason: Divi was (is?) known to clear Autopitmize’s caches although there is no reason to and that triggers Cache Enabler’s cache being cleared (because else if AO’s cache is cleared, any HTML referring to cached AO files would result in broken pages).

There really is no reason for ET/ Divi to clear AO’s cache after an page/ post update (or a new page/ post) … :-/

Thank you, that could really be. Is there some way to add a filter to stop this behavior in Divi?

I don’t know to be honest, I don’t use Divi myself. Maybe contact ET support and ask them for a solution (they really should not purge Autoptimize’s cache)?

Thank you @optimizingmatters, I appreciate the time you’ve given this thread as I was completely unaware of that. You saved me time to which I’m very grateful for.

@agenciesfirst, if anything else arises that I can assist with regarding this matter just let me know.
