Hi, I noticed recently some of my Youtube Lytes no longer have the title in the cache thumbnail. For example:

    View post on imgur.com

The title only appears when someone clicks on the thumbnail it loads:

    View post on imgur.com

There is no “lyte-wrapper” title=” in the page source to this video.

However, some videos DO have it. On the very same page, I have this video that has the “lyte-wrapper” title=” and therefore the title in the thumbnail:

I have no idea why this is. One thing I suspect–and I’m not sure if this is it–is that my API, when I check it, shows, “API key not OK, your key seems to be correct, but seems to have exceeded the number of requests that can be made with it.” Could this mean sometimes Youtube doesn’t send the title and sometimes it does, and depending on whether it sends the info or not, Lyte does or does not cache the title.

One thing, though: even when I clear cache with the Lyte clear cache option and also clear cache with Autoptimize (which I use), the titles still remain on videos that had titles before. At least with this site.

Please help. I’d like all cache Youtube Lyte videos to have the titles in their thumbnails. Thanks!

that is a very plausible explanation indeed, the best option would be for you to create an new API key and test if that fixes the problem?

This seems to work! Thanks! (One thing, though: there seems to be some articles, the most recent one, that stubbornly show a cached video even after installing the new API and clearing cache. Not sure why this is. What I mean is the video doesn’t show the titles.)

Hmm .. maybe try the trick described here to visualize and remove all cache LYTE info from that post and see if that allows LYTE to fetch and add the title?
