• Hi,

I manage a lot of sites (on different hosting spaces, but all with the same provider) that are using LiteSpeed Cache plugin and service (activated in cPanel with correct IP set up in the DNS zone). The cache works good with may different plugins and gets us great speed imrpovements.

However, I notice that on a fairly (ir)regular basis, on different sites, the plugin starts showing a message about the cache not being available. In french:

    Attention

Les fonctions de mise en cache sur cette page sont actuellement indisponibles !

Pour utiliser les fonctions de mise en cache, vous devez avoir un serveur web LiteSpeed ou utiliser un CDN QUIC.cloud.

Checking cPanel, the lscache option is always still activated. But when checking the site cache timestamps in the page source, I see there is no caching going on as the timestamp always changes to the latest request time.

Deactivating and reactivating the LiteSpeed Cache plugin does not fix the issue. Only when I deactivate and reactivate the lscache option in cPanel, the admin message goes away and page source timestamps are showing a cached version.

I asked the provider but they insist that it is not possible that a connection to the Lightspeed service can be “lost” as that would cause the site to become completely inaccessible. Their conclusion: it must be the plugin.

    What are your thoughts?

OK, let me find a site that is currently in this limbo state and create a report…

    Here is one: CECAEAPG

Please note that it’s on a Network installation but I’ve seen this happen on single sites too…

    Hi,

Because the server software it seems , is the Apache , not any LiteSpeed product on this hosting provider.

Please try add this into htaccess

    SetEnv X-LSCACHE on
    SetEnv SERVER_SOFTWARE LiteSpeed

and let me know how it goes.

if it still doesn’t work , please with above code placed and regenerate the new report number

    Best regards,

Yes, they offer a litespeed option as a proxy server I suppose ??

Will try the htaccess solution and report back as soon as I know more!

Fist feedback: the message on the lightspeed cache admin page has gone but the timestamps in the page source still change upon each anonymous request. You can see it on view-source:https://pomclic.fr/

Does this mean the cache is still not working? Should I de/reactivate the lscache option on the hosting space cPanel to reactivate the cache or should I keep this state for further testing?

    Hi,

Yes, upon check your site , I don’t see x-litespeed-cache: hit/miss header, this usually means cache root is not

Please contact your hosting provider for further assistance, as at this point , there is nothing wrong from plugin side , but requires server-side configuration.

    Best regards,

    Bonjour @ravanh

J’ai aussi ce message, comment as tu résolu le problème ?

Salut @espacemusculation je vais répondre en anglais pour bon usage du forum ??

I have not been able to resolve the issue. The only conclusion is that it is not due to the plugin, but to the lscache implementation at the hosting provider.

I’ve encountered this issue on several domains running at o2switch and opened a support ticket with them. They are still trying to find out more. It seems to be a very elusive issue… Is that the same host as yours maybe? If so, please open a ticket about it with them too ??

To quickly fix it, you can deactivate the lscache option on the host side, then activating it again. So not the plugin, but the hosting provider Litespeed Cache setting.

What I also noticed is that if the issue is left alone, after a while the lscache will start working again on its own. So it may actually be happening more often than we know ??

Salut @ravanh et tout le monde, hi everybody

Found this thread during investigation, got the same issue with the same configuration with lscache plugin running and litespeed activated on O2switch host.

I’ve tried your fix @ravanh and thanks for it, seems to be going for the moment.

By checking response header I have a x-lsadc-cache:hit so i think the cache is ok

I’m going to open a ticket to know more from O2switch support.

    Thanks everybody for feedback

    Hey y’all.
I’ve had the same issue randomly happening on several of my website hosted on o2switch and no proper answer by the support to why it was happening.

@scratchmyroi if you get one, would you mind sharing it here ?

Ps : je suis fran?ais également

    Hi folks,

    Salut @alexis888 @ravanh @espacemusculation

Got a feedback from O2switch : actually the fix is the solution from @ravanh. No other fix for the moment on their side but Romain from O2switch told me that a developer is working on to find a solution.

    To be continued…

Thanks for the feedback ! I’ll bookmark this thread and use it as a fix is I face the same problem again then.

    cheers

Nice to hear I’m not alone and o2switch is working on finding the cause ??

    Hi,

I am having the same problem 4 months later. My websites are also hosted at O2Switch.
