Hello – Using Litespeed Cache with a Quic.cloud account and am experiencing a cache reset each time a users IP address changes.

If I use a VPN to change IP open a new browser window and load a page, the page loads slowly the first time as the cache is rebuilt. The page source indicates the cache was “just” rebuilt on that page load. Subsequent loads from that page are “very fast” as the cache is hit.

But, if the IP hitting the page is changed again (using a VPN), the first load is slow as cache is rebuilt.

Have tried numerous setting changes, including using the different Presets – but this issue seems to persist.

Oddly – if I change the IP back to the original IP, the cache loads and the build time is displayed as the original time. It’s as if the cache is unique to each IP.

This problem would seem to indicate that each and every user (with a differing IP) will have a no-cache hit on first load.

    What am I missing?

    IP Change – rebuilds cache.

this is most likely if you have multi-language or multi-currency

please provide the report number , you can get it in toolbox -> report -> click “send to LiteSpeed”

    The report number is :?QBYEIHUR

We don’t have either multi-language or multi-currency set. Is there anything else I can check to try to get this working properly?

If every user who hits the site on a new IP has to freshly load the cache, the benefit of the cache is significantly minimized.

I see , your origin server is Nginx , the cache will NOT work there , so the cache was taken place in QUIC cloud CDN node

and CDN nodes are placed across globe , by that saying , different IP will resolve to different nodes , that’s why you see the cache becomes miss because it is connected to different node

ideally , you should use LiteSpeed webserver at origin and cache will be stored at origin as well , in which origin cache hit + cdn cache miss , it will still be like serve a static file which should be relatively fast enough

Thanks. The origin server server is Plesk/Apache with Nginx reverse proxy. I’m looking at transitioning to LiteSpeed enterprise .. in the meantime, If we turn off the Nginx reverse proxy and use Apache only, will this still be an issue with local cache not functioning?

yes , apache won’t work either

if you have root access to your plesk server , then

    1. purchase litespeed license or use trial license that is valid for 15 days
    2. disable nginx reverse proxy
    3. install this https://www.plesk.com/extensions/litespeed/
    4. swtich to LiteSpeed webserver in extension

Thanks for your help. I will purchase LSWS Enterprise and make the switch. You can mark this as resolved.
