Cache refreshing time

  • i have a few general and basic questions, will be more than happy to understand the logic behind caching and CDN:

    1. what is the refreshing time period for the minimized files?
    2. i tried to update my site but it doesn’t show the new code i added to the site, firebug shows this strange file name which is the minimized version…
    3. i connected my site to a CDN service via my hosting company (they did it for me), when does the files are getting refreshed?
    4. how can i work/edit my site while the caching is enabled?

    Will be more than happy to get some answers, i am a newbie!!! ??
