Hi, in litespeed under toolbox there is a option to select “Empty Entire Cache”. I wanted to know if you can explain what this does and the diffrence between using this vs purge All… I have had my website running litespeed for about 6 months and wanted to know should I use “Empty Entire Cache” option every few months…

    Hi,

it’s kind of for multi-site network

when you do purge all , it sends purge header as “X-LiteSpeed-Purge: public,xxx_”

where xxx_ is the prefix tag for this site

when you do empty entire cache , it sends purge header as ” X-LiteSpeed-Purge: public,*”

    e.g.

    you have a netork , 3 sites

    site1 has tag aaa_

    site2 has tag bbb_

    site3 has tag ccc_

when you do purge all on each individual site , it only purges all cache on that site , based on tag , e.g if you do purge all on site 1 , then it purges all pages with tag aaa_ and so on

when you do empty entire cache , it will purge all these aaa_ , bbb_ , ccc_ tags

    Best regards,
