Cache not working after moving to SSL

I installed the super cache plugin and tested all ok, then I added an ssl and used the plug in Really Simple SSL to force all pages to open under https. now when I test the cache it just errors with the message “One or more page requests failed:

The pages do not match! Timestamps differ or were not found!”

I have tried unticking the box “Send non-secure (non https) request for homepage” but it doesn’t stay unticked and still causes an error.

any ideas what is wrong?
