• I got a scary email from my host saying I was dangerously low on diskspace.

Said that on this directory: /wp-content/cache/wpfc-minified

This directory contains 18GB of files you may be able to free up. My server has 40 GB and I had less than 3 left.

In the plugin, I have the Cache Timeout to delete all cache files every day. So when I went to look at that directory and saw 9,890 files there I was surprised.

First, I tried manually deleting the files using the delete button that come with the plugin? That didn’t work. What do i need to check for that.

ARe there security settings in plugins that block the deleting of these files?

A feature that might be helpful is a notification email or a status in the plugin to notify that there are really old and many cache files left, one should attend to. 18GB is a lot of space and a lot of files to be sitting around.

BTW – other than that I really love your plugin. Thank you.

You need to fix other issue. I guess your files are called like that

    style.css?v=1
    style.css?v=2
    style.css?v=3
    style.css?v=4

this is a mistake. You use wpfc or not. does’nt matter. You need to fix it.

Fix what other issue? How do you know that my files are called like that:

    style.css?v=1
    style.css?v=2
    style.css?v=3
    style.css?v=4

    thanks for your help,

I saw this issue 3-5 times before. Minified css&js files cannot be more than 500kb. The plugin minified css&js everytime for per page.

But that isn’t the issue, really. I’ve got directories that are a month old. So the directories are NOT getting deleted. I’ve used the plugins delete and it come back saying the files are deleted but they are not. I’ve tried several times now to delete via FTP, but the number of directories keeps coming back to 9998.

I’ve had to de-activate the plugin and now I’m trying to delete all 9998 directories.

do you need the plugin to be active? it is deactivated now and I was able to delete all the directory via cPanel File Editor.

    Thank you,

I couldn’t see any strange situation. Maybe you shouldn’t stop use “combine” feature of the plugin.

I’m sorry, I am not sure what you mean by ‘shouldn’t stop use “combine” feature of the plubin’.

    Emre,

What do you mean. Is it about your plugin?

Should I stop or not stop using the ‘combine’ feature. And what is the combine feature of the plugin?

    Regards,

    Jeff
