Cache exclusion with wildcards not working?

    Hello
    I’m having issues with caching exclusions
    If I set this exclusion:
    /td0551/su_ambito/suesis/pagina/pagamenti
    the page is correctly exclude from WPO Caching, in the response header I can read:

    WPO-Cache-Message: In the settings, caching is disabled for matches for the current URL
WPO-Cache-Status: not cached

    If I set this exlcusion:
    /td0551/su_ambito/suesis/pagina/*

    the page is not excluded:
    WPO-Cache-Status: saving to cache

    In my tests I have disabled browser caching, and purged WPO cache everytime.
    I’m in WordPress 5.5 (multisite), with the latest WPO version.

  • @duttoluca I’ve tried to replicate the issue and the wild card is working at my end.

    Can you please try to purge the cache the line /td0551/su_ambito/suesis/pagina/* click save changes and then purge the cache and then again add the line /td0551/su_ambito/suesis/pagina/* and click Save changes button and check if it works?

    I tried what you suggest, the result is always the same: wildcard is ignored.

    As an additional test, excluding /td0551 correctly excludes the page, while /td0551/* doesn’t work with the subpages.

    All other exclusion methods (UserAgent, cookie) are working correctly.

    @duttoluca Our development team have identified the issue and was able to reproduce, We will be releasing a new version soon which will include the wildcard fix.

    I have the same issue! Wildcard exclusion does not seem to work anymore. It did before.

    @webtailor @duttoluca Hopefully the new version will be released next week.

    We’ll update you as soon as the new version is released.
