    Hello.
I’ve been reading through the issues here and see there have been changes with the Instagram API.

Only while logged in as an admin, I see the following error…

Cache Error: Looking for cache that doesn’t exist. Now using a backup feed.
This error is only visible to WordPress admins.

If you are using a caching plugin, try enabling the option on the Customize tab ‘Cache error API recheck’ or ‘Force cache to clear on interval’

Not sure if this is related to everything API, but wanted to cite it.
I love the plugin and didn’t realize there was premium version.

Thanks in advance for any insight you could provide.

    Sincerely,
    Dick

    Hey Dick,

Our latest update included the addition of a caching system to limit the number of API calls due to the changes you mentioned.

I believe what’s happening is that the cache for the feed expires as the page is loading. The plugin still thinks it should exist though.

Can you try enabling the setting “Cache Error API Recheck” on the “Customize” tab? Otherwise we will see if we can fix this in an update.

Let me know if you are still having any trouble!

    Hi Craig,

I was about to post a thread raising the same issue that @dickkirkland has posted about, but I thought I’d just post here instead.

I’m having the same issue with a site. I’ve enabled “Cache Error API Recheck”, enabled “Backup Caching”, cleared the Backup Cache and set “Force cache to clear on interval” to Yes.

I spoke to our hosting company and they tested the caching by uncaching it. That did not fix it though, so they said it’s not a caching issue. There was also nothing in the error logs for the plugin, though they said it didn’t look like any had been implemented other than a splash warning.

Do you have any idea how I can get rid of this message and fix the problem?

@craig-at-smash-balloon Thanks! This did the trick. Will be upgrading soon.
    I appreciate your time.

@dickkirkland – Sounds good! Glad we could fix the issue

@davidbrophy – We are working on another fix for this issue though yours seems to be unique. Can you contact us on our support page with a link to the page and your “System Info” from the “Support” tab?

    Worked for me.
A little clarification for others like me – Go to the Instagram Feed then look for the customize tab. This setting is way down toward the bottom.
