afraid not no, AO does everything relative to the wp-content directory. maybe you can work around that with the API and some wp-content/../cache magic somehow, but no guarantees there ??

Why such a requirement? On my site all plugins are outside wp-content directory and everything works perfectly. Why do you require all plugin data in wp-content while the plugin files are actually outside?

Well, I understand it is a quite mature project and some assumptions might be written in stone and changing them now might be quite difficult.

Anyway, what will happen if I rename wp-content to something else? You can easily do that. Will AO work or wp-content is hard-coded?

indeed; is was made so even before I took over from the original developer and changing that basic assumption is a too big a change with no real benefits ??

    no worries, that will work.

    enjoy the weekend! ??
