• Has anyone figured out how to actually disable caching on Siteground for this cookie, specifically?

    Password Protected does not always work well with sites that use caching.
    If your site uses a caching plugin or your web hosting uses server-side caching, you may need to configure your caching setup to disable caching for the Password Protected cookie:

    @connietee Hi,

    Hope you are doing good.

    Did you talk with Siteground about the cache disable issue?

    Let me test this on my staging sites, I have multiple servers, let me reproduce this and if there will be any issues I will fix them and release the updated version of this plugin soon.

    Thanks

    Thanks! I have just been disabling the cache manually, yet the browser still keeps the password.

    And in the “Remember for this many days” field, we added “1”, yet I’ve been going back to a new page in a browser and it still holds on to the password.

    We also changed the password once to test the behaviour, and we were still able to access the site contents on our end until a few days after.

    Is there any place else we could insert some kind of code to delete the cookie after, say, 4 hours?

    At the moment our plugin dont have any features to disable the cache, we are testing this on some our servers which have cache enabled and our plugin is working fine, you have to talk to Site Ground about this issue and maybe they can share a solution or disable specific cache for you.

    Thanks
