Cache by location

  • Hi,

    Just checking if it’s possible to serve content differently based on country location, i’m basically using a currency plugin for woocommerce which geolocates each user to serve up the correct currency for product pages.

    Seems like it be a perfect match if it does work, I also noticed the latest plugin doesn’t seem to let you pick a subdomain any more, is there any other way to test this with a staging site.

    Hi @steveokk,
    Unfortunately, Cloudflare doesn’t allow different cache for different locations. It holds a single cache for the page which is shown everywhere.

    I also use country-based pricing on my website where I’m also using WooCommerce. But for location-based pricing, I’m using Price Based on Country for WooCommerce (PRO).

    The best part about this plugin is that it shows the updated pricing in the shop page and the checkout page both of which you can bypass from the cache so each time a user visits these pages they will be served from the server showing them their own price. Whereas all other pages can be cached both at server disk-level and also at the Cloudflare CDN level.

    hopefully cloudflare eventually make it possible to serve different content per country, i’m sure the sites that have gone to the effort to do so would benefit the most from edge caching too!

    is there a way to test the plugin on a sub domain as well? I did notice it wasn’t visible in the latest version I tried.

    When you install the plugin on a site hosted on a subdomain it will automatically detect that and add the page rule based on that.
