• Hi,
Just installed cache enabler plugin (a couple of hours ago).

Followed instructions as in page “https://www.keycdn.com/support/wordpress-cache-enabler-plugin/”.

Did a page speed test with GTmetrix before and after plugin installation, but I’m having the same page speed scores as before (no improvement….).

Checked cache folder (wp-content/cache/cache-enabler) and I see only a few html files being created… is that normal behaviour?
How much time it takes to build up cache for the whole website? (about 200 pages)

    Thanks for any advice!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • The cache gets created when a user accesses the page. Therefore, not every page will be cached automatically. You’ll need to ensure that the page you want to test is first cached and then test the site to see the difference in load times.

Hmmm, I’ve installed and refreshed my page multiple times with a full local cache clear (Chrome dev) and it’s still showing “Current cache size: Empty”

Cache expiry is set to 0. All cache behaviors are unchecked. I have no exclusions and minification is turned off as I am using Autoptimize.

Are you accessing the website while logged out? The cache will only build for visitors who aren’t logged in.

    Hi Cody,

I noticed the thread that mentioned that. It is building, but, it’s building pretty slowly. How is the cache built up? I’ve gone through each page while logged out and the cache was saying there was about 200kb in it. Going through 6 pages on the site, you would think there would be more than 200kb cached.

Btw, I bought the optimus HQ license so images are getting converted to webp. Does that introduce a noticable delay in building the cache pages, both regular and compressed?

The cache should be built for a page as soon as you access it when logged out. You can verify this by checking the HTML of your page and looking for the <– Cache Enabler –> comment. If that comment is present, Cache Enabler is delivering the cached file for that page.

You can also check your file system under wp-content/cache/cache-enabler to see which pages are currently cached.

    Hey Cody,

    Thanks for the answer.

I have another question that I’ll post separately.
