    I am adding items to my rss feed but they aren’t showing up fast enough in my rss slider. how can I make the slider refresh every 15 mins to grab new items?

    New items will be fetched on page refresh. Or you can simply write a jQuery script to load that widget only. This widget is not having the feature yet which you are requesting. I will surely work on it later.
