    Hi there,

Very happy with the plugin so far, and this is not an issue with the plugin directly, but I hope you might be able to help me anyway.

I have a cookie-based redirect to a landing page set up so that anyone visiting the site for the first time since the page went live goes there first. After they’ve visited once, they won’t see it again. Only problem is that Add to Any always shares the landing page regardless of what page is actually being shared! I understand why this happens, but is there any way I can get round this? Sorry, I know this isn’t your problem really, but if you can help: awesome.

    Mike

If you want AddToAny to share a specific page, you can disable the default placement and place AddToAny manually to share a specific URL.

If your issue is actually Facebook et. al. following your redirect, then you’ll want to look into resolving that canonical URL issue. Test what Facebook sees (using “Fetch new scrape information” to test changes):

Yes, it’s the canonical url that’s the issue. Facebook is always being redirected to the landing page and taking its canonical url as the one it shows. Is there some way I can add an exception for sharing to the redirect?

Facebook and other major services will follow the redirect to its endpoint. Don’t redirect from the page you want shared.

You’re probably right. Might be easier just to replace the landing page with a pop up. Okay thanks for your time and advice.
