I’ve read the instruction on how to bypass login requirements for booking activities. This seems to half work. It seems that if the email address exists as a user of the site (they have an account on the site), it will STILL prompt them to login instead of bypassing it all together. Is there a way around this?

Hello, indeed this is the intended behaviour, you can either:

    • log in and make a booking
    • register and make a booking
    • make a booking without account (so the provided email must not have an account)

If a user creates an account later (i.e. after booking without an account), the user will find all reservations made with the account email address.

If you are an administrator and want to make a booking on someone else’s behalf, you can use the Order for Customers add-on (docs).

Thanks for the reply. We are actually in a scenario where this would not be desired. We have found a work around for now but you may want to consider adding optional functionality in the future.

    Thanks!

No problem, glad you could find a solution!

No, sorry, the current beahaviour is the intended one: it used to work as you intend, but it changed since Booking Activities 1.13 following numerous feedback:

Tweak – Assign existing bookings to the account when it is created, and prevent booking without account if the email address exists
