Hello, I’ve been so thankful for your plugin! It’s worked well for a long time. I’ve been slow in my development…

Last week I used the bypass feature for the first time so I could preview the site with one of my authors. However, viewing the site live through the bypass feature seems to not show any of the recent site Elementor header template settings edits.

I did try to turn off CMP and view the site live but the CMP coming soon page persisted and decided I didn’t want to leave the site unprotected too long by clearing more browser cache and other and turned CMP back on again. Troubleshooting some other issues recently, CMP has been turned off for a bit and turned back on as part of the process of “turning off all plugins to troubleshoot” process.

The bypass feature setting was activated through those shut downs and turn ons and I did not reset it except for a couple times turning it off and then turning it back on a couple times. Perhaps that affected the feature?

When using the bypass feature, could there be any code from that feature stopping all the real live site from being viewed?

Or is this the real live-live site when I view the bypass link and I should assume I have to fix something else for when I really intend the site to go live, fix something perhaps with Elementor, or my sucuri security cache or something?

thank you for all your hard work with this plugin!

Hello, I think it is issue with a caching or something. CMP checks if bypass cookie is correctly set, check it’s value and if that cookies’s value is matches your bypass phrase and is not expired, it will completely bypass CMP page and displays live site..

are you still experiencing those issues?

Hello Ales, thank you for your response. Finally yesterday Elementor Pro support discovered a connection with the live site not viewing properly and another 3rd party plugin used on the site, WP Content Protection. WP Content Protection support is currently reviewing the issue. I was able to confirm this by duplicating what Elementor found in deactivating this 3rd party plugin.

As for cache, we looked at that first and did not think it was any longer an issue. My server, my pro sucuri security settings, browsers and all did early on solve cache issues (no cache plugin used with WP right now, no cache programs running on the server except yum, turned off sucuri cache, browsers clear everything and go private with each browser close and new tab etc).

I currently have CMP activated and running and the bypass link has been working as you describe I think.

For now I am waiting to hear back from WP content and hope they have a work around. CMP has been consistent in how it works. Inactivating CMP/turning it off had the same live site breakages I saw using the bypass link, so the bypass link I think truly allows access to the real and same live site. And I at this point think the problem lies with a different plugin.

Thank you again for all you do and have created with your plugin
