• Whatever you do, do not buy the PRO version. The support is really bad. It is almost like they go out of their way to be unhelpful. Mean-spirited is too nice of an adjective. Their product is expensive, restrictive, and behaves in an unfriendly CSS way in a number of popular themes (e.g. X-Theme), and they refuse to help because it is not one of the three themes they support. Their refund policy effectively states “You have bought our product, and we will NOT refund you. We will rather spend lots of time dodging your requests”. I purchased the product, and realised within less than two hours that I had made a mistake. Refund? No way! Even though you cannot activate the software without a license, so rtCamp is covered. They even refused to refund after I offered that they could withhold 10% of the price to cover their exchange loss. Once you buy it, you are in it for life. Very odd business practices for an organisation in this space. Not happy!

  • Hi @mlargue,

This is Dinesh from rtMedia team.

I was expecting this after you tried to abuse our refund policy.

For records – I just want to add that mlargue claimed he wanted refund because:

    1. rtMedia is not open-source. This is obviously not true as all our plugins and themes, free or paid, are completely open-source and licensed under GPL v2.
    2. X-Theme – He never explained issues. He asked us for theme support which we cannot provide. As anyone who works in WordPress ecosystem knows that a plugin developer cannot assure 100% theme compatibility with every theme. Still, we gave him helpful links and remain present to sort out any issues during theme customization. But it seems simply that all mlargue wants from us to customize his theme for free.

We provide support for our own products only. We will still offer refund if mlargue finds any issues with our codes. The same has been informed to him many times.

    Regards,
    Dinesh

Hey @mlargue, that really a bad way to give rating. I don’t think you can criticize someone’s business just because they refuse to refund.
I hope before purchasing any product you gone through company’s policy and other TOC.

As par explanation from rtmedia team Dinesh, I think you are asking about GPL ?? . I personally suggest you first read what is GPL. rtMedia is open source and GPL along with all add-on.
And how many plugins/themes you are using with your site? and out of those how many plugins supported by each and every theme? there are 1000’s plugins and themes available and I don’t think those all are 100% compatible with each other.

Just for your info, I am one of the happy customer of rtMedia, their support team always helpful and provide almost all kind of support along with server related issues which other company’s do not provide.

So the point is, always give a chance before criticize ??

Hi Josh.Kart, not quite sure why it is a bad way to give a rating. I paid my $149, but for what? Bad support, poor coverage of themes, reported bugs, bad business practice. Quite honestly, I think you are a minion of the evil empire ??
Anyway, I have had enough of this issue. I will write the money off to experience, my bad, but I refuse to believe thast this is not a predatory company.
