  • PayPal doesn’t pass buyer information back. The only thing PayPal will pass back to you is the IPN code.

This isn’t a limitation of the plugin, it’s just how PayPal works.

So how would the plugin populate the address fields in the backend payments list?

    Thanks, Michael

The buyer fills them in on the form.

Go to the form settings and there is a ‘Personal Details’ field. Click on the link and select which fields you want to use.

It seems that PayPal will pass the buyer information back if the no_shipping parameter is set to 0. We are selling downloadable goods, still we would like to have the buyer’s address. Wouldn’t it be nice to avoid the personal details form and instead use the address associated with the paypal account?

The IPN log does contain all the buyer’s information. But this would all need extracting, processing and feeding into the database. To do this is a lot of work.

If this is something you really want I can put a quote together but it’s way beyond the scope of a freebie upgrade. I reckon a couple of days work for the research, coding and testing.

Thanks, I will think about it.

OK. Closing the thread now as the problem can’t be fixed without an update
