    Hi,
I enabled FotoMoto to set up to use ONLY with FooBox in certain locations. I disabled all pages and categories in the plugin — however it does not include any custom post types or other settings.

I have the following things happening:
    1) buy links have instituted themselves in my BuddyPress user profile page.
    2) I am getting MANY emails from FotoMoto that an image has too long a URL. When I look, it is a Google Map — FotoMoto is trying to upload google maps as images. I see a related post here about such an issue but I don’t know how I can go through and add a specific class onto each and every map I have.

How can I keep buy links from appearing in all sorts of inappropriate spots and from FotoMoto trying to upload Google Maps? I have recevied about 30 “URL too long” emails from FotoMoto in the last 7 minutes all with Google Map URLs.

For now, I’m going to disable the plugin as I’m not quite yet ready to proceed with adding photos for sale until I can figure out how to control what the plugin does better.
    Thanks

    Hi Cheryl,

    Thank you for your post.

By default, when you select “For Sale” as your default Collection, Fotomoto will put Buy links under all images on the pages where it is installed. If that’s not what you want, feel free to make “Not for Sale” your default Collection, or there are several ways you can exclude images from sale…most explained at https://support.fotomoto.com/s/article/8473-how-do-i-exclude-a-photo-from-my-store.

In your case, I would suggest you first add the domain where your images are coming from to the Image URL White List. This will prevent Google images from being picked up.

After that, if the “How do I exclude…” article above doesn’t give you the solution you need, please feel free to contact us via https://support.fotomoto.com/s/ for personal support, and please be sure to include your domain or username so we can look up your account and take a look at your website to see how to help you best.

Regarding the image URL being too long, that means…well, there was a really long image URL on your site, and it may be an issue so again please let us know who you are so we can investigate further.

Hope that helps and kind regards,
    Derek at Fotomoto

    Hi.
Thanks for the quick reply. I had already set not for sale as the default condition — but somehow it was putting buy links on the user page anyway. That has now stopped. I went ahead and whitelisted my site URL as well. I think this has stopped the Google Map uploads. I use ShortPixel AI so I’m assuming that images on the CDN won’t be picked up unless I whitelist the CDN URL or exclude the images from ShortPixel (currently FooBox images are NOT on the CDN and they work with FotoMoto — this workds for me).

Just a suggestion: it would be nice in the plugin if the incude/exclude options were not radio buttons but checkboxes with a “check/uncheck all” option.
    Thanks

Actually, despite having not for sale as the default, the fotomoto toolbar is, again, appearing on Buddypress membership pages tacked onto the cover image. I’ll see what I can do to exclude it but don’t want to have to manually attach a class to each cover image. Maybe I can find some way to automatically add a class to those images. We’ll see…

    Hi Cheryl,

If you had For Sale as the default then visited your site, any image that showed a Buy Button will have loaded in to your For Sale Collection. If you then set Not for Sale to be the default, the images that loaded in to For Sale would still be in For Sale and show the Buy Buttons. If you want to remove the Buy Buttons, you just need to move the image to Not for Sale. Please see https://support.fotomoto.com/s/article/8632-set-product-and-pricing-options for more about how to use Collections.

    Hope that helps,
    Derek

    Hi,

Thanks. I already did that. I distinctly remember setting the default to not for sale right after I created the account…but when I went back it was set to for sale. I changed it again, found the images that were listed as for sale and the buy buttons are gone. I’m going to keep an eye on it, though, as I thought I already HAD changed everything to not for sale.

But it seems to be resolved.

    Hi Cheryl,

Glad to hear that it seems to be resolved. If it’s helpful I’d be happy to help you verify, but I would need to know which account is yours.

Just so you and those reading know, I have never received a report of the default Collection changing without being changed, but yes, please do keep an eye on that and let us know if you see an issue.

    Kind regards,
    Derek
