Buttons on cart page not working on mobile

    Hello,

    I’m having issues with the cart page and since the theme creator claims everything is working fine on his live preview, I’m hoping someone here might be able to help me out.

    When my customers are browsing on mobile and add items to their cart, they click on “view cart” in the cart overview that opens up on the right side. When they get to the cart page, the buttons “update cart” and “proceed to checkout” do not work.
    When browing via desktop, there is no issue at all.

    I installed the theme Twenty Twenty-Two to check if the same issue happens, but everything works like it should while on mobile. I also de-activated every plugin and activated them one by one to see if something is causing a conflict, but not one of the deactivated plugins solved the issue.

    So, I contacted the theme creator, but he says that he looked at the live preview of his theme and everything works just fine for him on mobile.

    I’m at a loss and I’ve been receiving a lot of messages with customers who are not able to checkout via the cart page. I’m guessing these people are just the few who are taking the trouble to reach out to me w hile many other people just abandon their cart and leave.

    I’m hoping someone can help me figure out what is wrong and how I might be able to fix it.

    I can also replicate the issue on my mobile. The update cart and proceed to checkout buttons are both unresponsive on the cart page.

    I installed the theme Twenty Twenty-Two to check if the same issue happens, but everything works like it should while on mobile. I also de-activated every plugin and activated them one by one to see if something is causing a conflict, but not one of the deactivated plugins solved the issue.

    If the issue resolves when you switch to a default theme, the culprit is most likely the theme.
    To troubleshoot further, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

    Yes, that was my immediate thought too and that’s why I contacted the theme creator after I took al the steps to check the issue with the Twenty Twenty-Two theme and deactivating and activating all plugins. But he can’t to seem to find anything wrong with his live preview and therefore believes it’s not a problem with his theme.

    Oh, there wasa theme update back in June, perhaps the creator did or did not make any required changes, as also mentioned in the php files. 

    This template can be overridden by copying it to yourtheme/woocommerce/checkout/form-checkout.php.

    I have done what you instructed, however removing the files did not bring the functionality back unfortunately, so there does not seem to be an issue with any of the templates.

    Now, I did noticed something else, but I’m not sure if it’s normal behavior.
    When I’m on mobile, I am able to remove a product from the cart page. When clicking on the X (on the product) a transparant layer appears over almost the entire page.
    Could it be that this transparant layer is 100% transparant until removing the product and therefore blocking the buttons? Though it would not explain how it’s possible then still possible to change the quantity or insert a coupon code.

    Yes, after checking your cart page, I saw that you have this transparent overlay. When I delete it, I’m able to use the buttons on the cart page.

    The overlay shows that it’s coming from the JS Composer plugin, though I don’t see that in your initial list of plugins that were in the System Status Report.

    Kindly try the following:

    * If you have Visual Composer currently installed, try uninstalling it and see if it fixes the issue – it could be that it’s clashing with your WPBakery Page Builder.
    * If the issue persists, you will want to get in touch with the author of the theme to take a closer look. Be sure to mention that when you switch to a default WordPress theme, the issue no longer comes up.

    Thank you so much for finding out what causes the issue!
    I have checked the theme default files and I see that the JS Composer plugin comes with the theme, it’s in the download folder. So I have reached out to the theme creator with this new information.

    Thank you both for assisting me with this! I’ll continue discussing with the theme creator to get this issue fixed.
