Buttons have disappeared

  • Hi,
    I have been using Max Buttons for a little over 5 months on a clients site and had no issues. Today I looked at the site and found the background of the buttons are no longer showing and the styling is gone. The shortcodes are still in place and the button copy is showing in black but that is all. It is the CTA section on my home page so I would like to figure everything out asap. The section I am referring to is under “THE ROAD TO SUCCESS” section. I have tested it in Chrome & Firefox

    Hi Haley,

    Did you change anything on the site recently? It seems that the styling is not being written to the webpage properly. This can be caused by a bunch of things, like caching mechanisms or pages that don’t have a wp_footer() function in them.

    Initially I didn’t see any buttons there, but after a refresh I can see the ‘junior year’ button now.

    What you can try is this :

    – Check if the buttons *don’t* have the option ‘ Use External CSS ‘ under advanced active.

    If that doesn’t help try adding style=”inline” to the shortcode, e.g. [maxbutton id=4 style=”inline”] and see if that changes anything.

    If you have some caching active I’d suggest to flush it. Also please check if the plugin is up-to-date ( and WP too ) .

    I have the same problem on both my production and test sites. I am currently running the latest version of WordPress and the Divi theme.

    I updated my plugins one at a time to see which one caused the problem.

    Everything was fine until i applied the update to MaxButtons to Version 6.23. Once i updated the plugin, all the formatting was gone.

    I’ve tried flushing the cache and deactivating my caching plugin. This didn’t help.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi Mark,

    It’s difficult to say. Did you change anything else than just updating everything? You can post a link here to the page you are having problems on, maybe I can see what’s not working.

    You can also try to include ‘style=”inline”‘ to the shortcode and see if that helps e.g. [maxbutton id=1 style=”inline”]
