Button does not show up as it should

    The plugin worked fine on the first Website I installed it on. However, I tried installing it on another Website and I have the following issues:
    – the Facebook like button is round although I set it to be square
    – the Share button does not show up at all
    – the Like button only appears on the article page, not on the homepage
    – when I click on the Like button, it does not work (does not add a Like)
    – the previous Likes I should still have from my Facebook API do not show up

    What is weird is that the settings are exactly the same as from the first Website I installed the plugin on but the result is completely different. I tried deactivating all the plugins and clearing the cache but it did not change anything. I think the problem comes from the theme itself but before I get into the process of finding who made the theme and everything, is there anything else you think I should try?

  • Hi @mluce, most likely there is an issue with the theme. Also possible: conflict with another plugin. So maybe you deactivate other plugins first to see if that improves things.

    I tried switching to a standard theme, and it only gets a little bit better, which is that when I roll over the Like button, I do see the options of sharing and liking. Except that if I like, it still does not work. (With the main theme, I would only get an empty bubble and no like/share buttons.)

    I did try to deactive all the other plugins but it did not change anything.

    If, the issue remains when I switch to a standard theme, then the problem does not come from the theme, right?

    Never mind, I tried again today and it worked fine when I switched to the other theme. It was probably a cache issue and the issue does come from the theme. Thank you for your reply.
