Business Lite page has suddenly collapsed

  • I’ve had my business site up and running on WordPress for several years now. Using Business Lite. Today I went to the site and the structure is completely gone. I have other WordPress sites with other themes and they are all still working fine. Any idea what happened here?

  • I have no idea what your site is supposed to look like, but you are loading a lot of stylesheets.

    Delete any plugins and themes you aren’t using, temporarily disabling the remaining plugins, empty your browser and server caches, and reload the page.

    I found this at the bottom of my Themes section:

    “Broken Themes

    The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.

    Name Description
    iFeature Pro Child Theme The parent theme is missing. Please install the “businesslite” parent theme.”

    Yet there has never been a problem before. I made no changes. ???

    Computer files do sometimes become corrupt. You can always reinstall the parent and child themes via FTP.

    Would that mean rebuilding the site? I’m afraid I’m not well versed in this. Do those themes still exist intact somewhere else?

    It depends on what you mean by “rebuilding”.

    Your posts, pages, and comments are stored in the WordPress database. FTP can’t touch them.

    Any changes you made to a theme or a child theme via WordPress’s built-in editor will be overwritten when you upload a fresh copy of the theme.
