business category view : don’t get it

    Hello,

    A thing I do not understand with the business categories. I am displaying in a left column of my listing page the business categories with the shortcode. All fine.

    When I click on one category, it shows me all businesses for this category, BUT on the WP category page. I do not want this.

    Why do we not stay on the current listing page and display here the businesses for the chosen category? This is how filters and other selection criteria work.

    Why go to another page?

    PS : creating specific pages for each category is overkill, as the goal of a directory is too make it fully automatic without creating pages manuall.

    Hi Dider,

    In order to have the most options for layout of the Directory, you’ll want to use the [business_directory] shortcode. Click on ‘Choose BD Fields’ link in the documentation to see all the parameters offered: https://chamberdashboard.com/documentation/

    The [business_category] shortcode picks up its formatting from your theme. It is possible to create a new page template for category pages. You’ll want to use a child theme for this and then create a new .php file and copy the contents of your theme’s “category.php” file into that new file. Then you can customize as much as you want!
