bunch of design questions

which files are the main ones to edit the layout. i want to make the layout look nothing like what it is right now. i need to shift over the main column and theres a image going on the top left, i also need to change the bg image, color scheme. any help would rule. im going to be making a jpg of the layout now but if anyone wants to see it to help me with the php editing i could do that too.
