Is the sidebar displayed by merging/replacing a host sidebar, or have you used the shortcode or display_ca_sidebar() function?

    Its a forced replace

If you put one of the same widgets into the host sidebar and visit a page where that sidebar is displayed, will the bullet points then also show up?

And what happens if you change from “forced replace” to just “replace”?

    Hi again

The bullet points remain under both of those circumstance

Actually the sidebar only seems to replace the plugin sidebars and not the original ones

In the sidebar editor to the right, you can select what sidebar you, under certain conditions, want to merge with/replace. This is referred to as the host sidebar.
Have you selected a theme sidebar here or a content aware sidebar?

    (@lauriedugdale)

I’ve selected a theme sidebar for one and a content aware sidebar for another

    (@lauriedugdale)

I’ve done this because it seems to have trouble targeting the members list page on buddy press.

If I put one sidebar on the members list page it gets displayed on all of the buddypress pages,

So I’ve tried setting the content aware sidebar for the members page (where I need a different sidebar) and replacing that on the other buddypress pages with another content aware sidebar

I’m unable to replace a theme sidebar with a content aware sidebar.

    sorry for the multiple posts.

What versions of WordPress and BuddyPress are you using?

So it sounds like you have two problems: the bullet points and that the sidebars do not show up as you expect.
For the bullet points, did they also show up for your theme sidebar? Or only content aware sidebars?

    Thread Starter LaurieDugdale

    (@lauriedugdale)

buddypress version 2.1.1 wordpress version 4.1

The bullet points don’t show up on the theme sidebar just the content aware sidebars.

    Thanks again for your help

I will see if I can reproduce this problem. Will it be possible for you to share a link to your site?

    Hi,

Same problem for me : I have bullet points only in content aware sidebars

    Thanks.

Is it possible for you to create an account for jv [at] intox.dk on your site so I can take a look at it?

    Hi,
I have the same problem with bullets appearing on content sidebars. Have you found a way to resolve this ?
    Thanks.
