I have created a bullet list and need to indent some bulleted items. Using the indent icon seems to have no effect — even clicking it twice for a double indent. In my preview, all the bullet items are lined up with nothing indented.

    How can I troubleshoot this?

Use a nested bullet list within the original one

Trying to nest a bulleted list inside the first one simply turns on and off the bullets.

In case it helps, this is the page in question:

Any other ideas on how to indent some lines (but not all) within a bulleted list?

I’ve had lots of problems with indented bulleted lists and, this morning at 3:45 am while lying in bed, the answer came to me…it’s a setting!

In Settings -> Writing, but sure to UNCHECK “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically.” If this is checked, WordPress will re-write the article or page and automatically close any open <ul> if it comes across a second indented <ul>.

Thanks, Ben. Unfortunately, when I tried to follow your suggestion, that option was already un-checked.
