Hello and thank you in advance for your help! I’ve built a WooCommerce store for a used appliance company that uploads hundreds of pictures a week. The website should be 2-3 gigs max and this site is over 10 gigs. The client doesn’t delete the media; once a product is deleted, it doesn’t automatically delete the corresponding media from the library.

Does anyone have advice for how to automate unused/unattached media cleanup in bulk? Thank you!

  • Hi @emelieohara!

You can bulk delete unattached media by going to Media → Library, selecting unattached, and Bulk select all the media you want to delete.

In case you are looking for an automatic option, I think the Pro version of the WP-Optimize plugin could do the job you want to achieve; it has an option for carrying automatic clean-ups of unused and unwanted images.

If you have any pre-sales questions about that plugin, you can ask them here:

    I hope this helps!

    Hi there,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.

    Cheers!
