• Hi there,

didn’t get a solution or post in other forums, so that’s why I am writing.

On several websites I have a problem when I try to edit posts in bulk (change status or category) I get forwarded to an empty! author’s page. On one page I get the 404 error.

Has anyone the same or a similar problem?

    Happy easter to all!

    Found the reason:

In my .htaccess there is / was a rule that prevents the “simple reading” of user names when someone types domain.com/blog/?author=X in the address bar. With this rule anyone is redirected to “domain.com/blog/?author=” – 404 error page or 400 bad request error page.

So, at the moment there is a choice between security and comfort ?? Or does anyone had the same issue und fixed it with another htaccess rule which denies reading user names?

    Thank you and stay well

There is no security in obscurity. It does not matter if anyone knows the user names.
