    Hello,
I have a large user base and used the wizard a few times to go through them.
The process is lengthy and I tried to let it run overnight, it stopped but I managed to check most users.

Now I have about 6,000 users left that need to be checked, but when I run the wizard it starts over and wants to check all the 29k+ verified users again.

So I’m going to the WangGuard > Users screen and click on “Unchecked Users” to do a bulk check on those users — there’s no command to do that though.

Is there any way to check the unchecked users only?
Shouldn’t the wizard only check the unchecked/no status users instead of going through the whole user base again?

    Thanks for your help,
    Mauro

    Hi Mauro,

No, the wizard always check all users.

You can add a WangGuard cron for check the latest registered users.

We can add a check a date range in TODO, or bulk check.

    Kind regards

    Hello Jose,
Thank you for getting back to me.
I’ve created a plug-in that will bulk check unverified users only and solved my issue.

It just didn’t make sense to me to go and re-check the whole user base all over again: that’s a lot of useless hits to your API, it is an extremely time consuming process, and I’d have risked to incur in the same issue of getting a network failure at some point in the process.

I would recommend you change the Wizard so recognises already checked users and only checks the ones that still need verification (or at least add that as an option), and to add a bulk check users in the WangGuard Users screen.

    Thank you,
    Mauro.

I totally agree with Mauro on this (could you possibly share your code on Github?).

You should be able to bulk check unchecked users, not have to check all users every time. It doesn’t make sense.

    Hi,

The code is in Github since many month ago ?? Some people contributed to WangGuard.

    Hi athemes,
I will get back to you as soon as I put the workaround I created on GitHub and share a link here.
    Thanks,

This plug-in adds a tool to check unverified users against the WuangGuard protection API. Requires the WuangGuard Plug-in to be active and setup with an API key.

    – Install this plugin by uploading it via FTP to your plugins directory in WordPress
    – Make sure that your WuangGuard plug-in is setup and that you have added your API Key to its settings.
    – Activate this plugin through the ‘Plugins’ screen in WordPress.
    – Use the “Tools -> WangGuard Check Unverified Users” screen and follow onscreen instructions.

Note: the read me file is somewhat incomplete. I was thinking of getting this on the public WordPress plug-ins directory but given its nature of being sort of a hack, sharing on github looks like a better alternative. I’ll update the readme to the github format when I catch some time.

    Great, thanks.
