Bulk assigning 2 roles to multiple Users at the same time

  • Hi.

    Awesome plugin!

    Is there any way I can assign 2 roles to some of my users…??

    I have about 500 users. I want 200 of them to be in “Subscriber” and “Full Member” roles. Is there a quick way of doing this in bulk, or do I have to manually change them one-by-one via their user-edit screens…??

    Hi,

    Thanks for the good feedback and an idea for further development.
    Currently the only way to bulk assign multiple roles is to make it via PHP script.
    What criteria you may use to select those 200 users from 500? Do they have some role already?

    Hi Vladimir.

    Appreciate the fast response.

    They are all in the “Subscriber” role.

    On the Users page, there is a column called “Active Memberships” and these 200 have “Full Membership” in this column. Another 150 have “Basic Membership” in this column.

    Can you please help…???

    Strange, that I did not receive a notification email about your message.

    “Active Memberships” is a custom column added by your membership plugin. I need install it in order to look how build a formal condition for users selection. What membership plugin do you use? If it’s free send here its download link. If it’s a paid product, you may send it for testing to support [at-sign] role-editor.com

    Hello again Vladimir.

    We are using MemberPress as our membership plugin.

    Unfortunately, the license is tied to our domain name.

    Can I make a suggestion?
    On the USERS page, can your make your plugin add checkboxes for the memberships instead of the dropdown “Change Role To…”? Or maybe even add a secondary drop down so that we can choose a second User Role in bulk….???

    I am sure a ton of folks out there are looking for this kind of a functionality.

    This is a good idea to realize – add a button which allows to bulk assign a secondary role(s) to the selected (via existing checkboxes) users. Thanks. I will add this feature to one of the future updates.

    It will be possible to grant multiple roles to the selected list of users with version 4.32. It’s available currently as a development version.

    I plan to publish it at the begin of the next week. It will be helpful if you can test this feature until that.
