Bulk Add Photos as Post Type

I’d like to know if it’s possible or would be difficult to add a feature that allows me to upload a bunch of photos and have it automatically create new posts in a specific custom post type where I could also tag the bunch with a specific category. How easy/difficult would that be? Thanks!
