Built in WP Audio Player shows in editor – not on page

Have been trying to use the built in WP audio player with Zerif Lite theme, the audio player shows in the visual editor and plays there, but nothing shows on the page itself when I publish it.

I have checked browsers, the mp3 file is hosted on my server and working, when I switch to the 2015 theme the player appeared – but when I switched back to the Zerif Lite theme it does not appear on the page.
