I’d like to build a custom header for storefront, meaning to have the same links as the default navbar has, but in a different layout.

I do not know however, what functions should I use, how to call for example the search box in the right place in my custom navbar, how to call the cart (I don’t even wanna change it’s icon, just the placement), etc. And I’m also not really sure how can I remove the original one.

I found some stuff in /inc/storefront-template-functions.php should I get the functions from there and edit them in my child theme’s functions.php?

I’ve worked with custom wordpress themes, but Storefront’s header/function files are a little intimidating for me, I get a little lost between functions.php and storefront-template-functions and storefront-functions and all that jazz…
