Bugs and errors when updating
-
Hello!
I have WP Compress installed in several sites I am admin at, and I’m used to check on any random site it is and see some issue related to the images / photos. Whatever issue it is, I end up finding is WP Compress. Ok, just need to change some random option by trial and error until its solved. But it is annoying because every single time the plugin updates, there will be some issue.
A few months ago, the clothes online store had the footer images being displayed HUGE with their true size, considering that I have placed an html code to display the image smaller to keep the quality in mobile devices. This was reported and eventually solved by the support team.
Recently, in another online store – the natural products one – the product images were not changing when the customer would click another product photo. I disabled the plugin, problem solved.
Now after the last update, the images, ALL of them, from photos to single icons and whatever, just disappeared. In both my photography site, and in the clothes online store (not on the natural products store, because the plugin was already disabled…). Can you imagine a photography website with the images not being displayed because – as I’ve read here in the forums just 5 min ago – the client is expected to reconnect the API key from the plugin to the main server ater this last update? This is nonsense. I understand we need to reconnect the API key each time the plugin is disabled / enabled, but after a plugin update?
My sites have an average of 30, 40, one of them around 60 plugins total, and none of the others present so many issues with each update.
Just my 2 cents here.
In the clothes store, I tried to change an option to make the images appear again, but whenever I clicked the WP Compress menu in the options, it would open an error page. I changed an option in my photography site and the images were being displayed again. The option was set to “safe mode” operation instead of the default one.
